Background
1.
Children’s Aid
Children’s
Aid is National Non-Governmental, not for profit Organization founded by a
group of South Sudanese with expertise in Health, Education, Gender equality,
Livelihood and Agriculture; to address the problems of south Sudan’s
humanitarian situation based on the practical experience seen in the community
by the founding members. Children’s Aid contribution is towards improving the
quality of health in the communities with emphasis on children and women. We
strive to reduce and eventually eliminate absolute poverty, illiteracy and
social inequalities in the south Sudan society. We partner with the community
in identifying their own problems and solving them using local initiative.
Aims:
To assist Children to realize their full potential, by supporting and
strengthening local institutions to enable community members respond
effectively to the numerous social-economic challenges.
2. Family planning Services
“Scaling up Family Planning services” project
is a project funded by HPF to support the scaling up of family planning
services in the six states of south Sudan. The six states selected for this
project are: Eastern Equatoria state, Lakes state, Warrap state, Unity state,
Western Bahr-el-Ghazal state and Northern Bahr-el-Ghazal state. The project
will be implemented by a consortium of the National NGOs which are composed of:
Reproductive Health Association of South Sudan (RHASS), Children’s Aid
South Sudan (CASS), The Rescue Initiative South Sudan (TRISS), Universal Network
for Knowledge and Empowerment Association (UNKEA), Peace Child South
Sudan (PCSS), and Initiative for Rural Empowerment (IRE).
Aligned with the strategic priorities
of the Government of South Sudan, Ministry of Health- Health Sector Development
Plan 2012-16 (HSDP) and the Family planning Policy of 2013. The project is
aimed at improving and strengthening the reproductive health services
specifically Family Planning Services in the selected states from the state
hospitals to the County hospitals, PHCCs and PHCUs.

Summary
The position of Guard
will secure the office from theft or any other criminal acts that may occur
during and after working hours by intruders. The Guard works under the
authority and the supervision of the Field Operation Officer.
Responsibilities:

Ensure that
compound, office and assets contained within are keep safe and secure
·
Keep compound
and office keys and ensure all doors and gates are locked
·
Receive all
visitors and ensure they have permission to enter the compound, maintain the
visitors logbook and check in procedures
·
Be aware of
movement of the staff and the office vehicle when it leaves the compound
·
Conduct routine
checks around the perimeter of the compound and office throughout the shift
·
Immediately
report any threats or incidents affecting the safety and security of the
compound or office to the Operations Officer
·
Ensure that
security lights around the compound and office are operating and maintain any other
safety and security precautions
·
Participate in
risk assessments, under the direction of the Operations Officer to identify
potential threats and mitigating measures
·
Keep the
compound area around the office well maintained including cutting grass
·
Remain alert at
all times while on duty and aware of the entire compound and office areas
·
Carry office
cell phone and keep it charged during working hours and ensure that it is
switched on with sufficient credit
·
Card ID card at
all times
·
Remain fully
compliant with Consortium Policies and Procedures, including those regarding
safety and security
·
Perform other
duties as assigned by the Operation Officer
·
Required
attributes and experience:
Essential
·
South Sudan
national with valid identity card.
·
Minimum year of
experience as an office guard for an NGO, government agency or private company
·
Knowledge of
safety and security procedures and principles
·
Good spoken
& written English
·
Commitment to
Children’s Aid mission, principles, values
·
Personal
efficiency, resourcefulness, organising ability and flexibility
