Background
1. Children’s Aid
Children’s
Aid is National Non-Governmental, not for profit Organization founded by a
group of South Sudanese with expertise in Health, Education, Gender equality,
Livelihood and Agriculture; to address the problems of south Sudan’s
humanitarian situation based on the practical experience seen in the community
by the founding members. Children’s Aid contribution is towards improving the
quality of health in the communities with emphasis on children and women. We
strive to reduce and eventually eliminate absolute poverty, illiteracy and
social inequalities in the south Sudan society. We partner with the community
in identifying their own problems and solving them using local initiative.
Aims: To assist Children to realize their full potential, by supporting and
strengthening local institutions to enable community members respond
effectively to the numerous social-economic challenges.
2.
Family Planning
Services
“Scaling up Family Planning services”
project is a project funded by HPF to support the scaling up of family planning
services in the six states of south Sudan. The six states selected for this
project are: Eastern Equatoria state, Lakes state, Warrap state, Unity state,
Western Bahr-el-Ghazal state and Northern Bahr-el-Ghazal state. The project
will be implemented by a consortium of the National NGOs which are composed of:
Reproductive Health Association of South Sudan (RHASS), Children’s Aid
South Sudan (CASS), The Rescue Initiative South Sudan (TRISS), Universal Network
for Knowledge and Empowerment Association (UNKEA), Peace Child South
Sudan (PCSS), and Initiative for Rural Empowerment (IRE).
Aligned with the strategic priorities
of the Government of South Sudan, Ministry of Health- Health Sector Development
Plan 2012-16 (HSDP) and the Family planning Policy of 2013. The project is
aimed at improving and strengthening the reproductive health services
specifically Family Planning Services in the selected states from the state
hospitals to the County hospitals, PHCCs and PHCUs.

A. Broad Description of Role
The role of the Cook-Cleaner is to properly and
thoroughly clean …………….. facilities and to safely and hygienically prepare
quality meals according to the staff diets and preferences and available local
ingredients.
B. Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean window, doors, walls, shelves, tables, furniture, ceiling fans, and appliances to remove spider webs and dust, before cleaning floors.
- Sweep and then mop floors with clean water and detergent; move furniture when sweeping and mopping and change mop water frequently
- Sweep courtyard and remove all rubbish such as discarded papers, bottles, cans, wrappers, etc.
- Remove waste from rubbish bins and place in large containers in courtyard for disposal.
- Wash all used dishes, pots, pans, and cooking implements in and around sink.
- Clean inside of refrigerator and freezer thoroughly at least once per week; dispose of spoiled food.
- Clean bathrooms, toilets, sinks on a daily basis; ensure that there is hand soap and at least two full rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom at all times.
- When cleaning sinks and shower drains, remove hair and other debris so that drain does not become clogged; if clogged, notify Logistics Assistant immediately.
- Wash clothes thoroughly but very gently to avoid stretching and wear; hang dry inside out and out of direct sunlight to discoloration or fading.
- Thoroughly clean all rags and sponges after use; replace dish sponge at least once per week.
- Spraying insect killer wherever an infestation has occurred or might occur; clean affected area thoroughly with water and detergent 30 minutes after spraying insect killer.
- Clean Jerry cans and water cooler bottles thoroughly with clean drinking water and light detergent once per week; rinse thoroughly after using light detergent.
- Notify Logistics Assistant of all cleaning supply needs and upkeep/maintenance issues.
- South Sudan nationals only.
- Ability to speak Basic English and Juba Arabic and Duty station’s language.
- Willingness to weekend shifts.
