Background
1.
Children’s Aid
Children’s
Aid is National Non-Governmental, not for profit Organization founded by a
group of South Sudanese with expertise in Health, Education, Gender equality,
Livelihood and Agriculture; to address the problems of south Sudan’s
humanitarian situation based on the practical experience seen in the community
by the founding members. Children’s Aid contribution is towards improving the
quality of health in the communities with emphasis on children and women. We
strive to reduce and eventually eliminate absolute poverty, illiteracy and
social inequalities in the south Sudan society. We partner with the community
in identifying their own problems and solving them using local initiative.
Aims:
To assist Children to realize their full potential, by supporting
and strengthening local institutions to enable community members respond
effectively to the numerous social-economic challenges.
2. Family planning Services
“Scaling
up Family Planning services” project is a project funded by HPF to support the
scaling up of family planning services in the six states of south Sudan. The
six states selected for this project are: Eastern Equatoria state, Lakes state,
Warrap state, Unity state, Western Bahr-el-Ghazal state and Northern
Bahr-el-Ghazal state. The project will be implemented by a consortium of the
National NGOs which are composed of: Reproductive Health Association of South
Sudan (RHASS), Children’s Aid South Sudan (CASS), The Rescue
Initiative South Sudan (TRISS), Universal Network for
Knowledge and Empowerment Association (UNKEA), Peace Child South Sudan (PCSS), and Initiative for Rural
Empowerment (IRE).
Aligned
with the strategic priorities of the Government of South Sudan, Ministry of
Health- Health Sector Development Plan 2012-16 (HSDP) and the Family planning
Policy of 2013. The project is aimed at improving and strengthening the
reproductive health services specifically Family Planning Services in the
selected states from the state hospitals to the County hospitals, PHCCs and
PHCUs.

OVERVIEW
OF POSITION
This
is a full-time position. Half of the time this position is for Case Management
which will have the primary responsibility of managing all services that link
with health care and psycho/social services in a manner that ensures timely,
coordinated access to appropriate levels of care to Family Planning client. The
other half time the position is for a Counselor which delivers pre and post
counseling to individuals seeking FP services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Will provide
information and FP commodity to the client seeking FP services.
Ø Conduct an
assessment of client’s needs and personal support system.
Ø Develop a
comprehensive individualized service care plan for each client.
Ø Conduct
periodic re-evaluation and adoption of the plan.
Ø Submit
monthly and quarterly reports on all activities to Clinical Advisor.
Ø Facilitate
Pre & Post Test counseling sessions with individuals and groups.
Ø Conduct risk
assessment.
Ø Identify and
maintain working relationships with potential testing sites.
Ø Conduct
outreach activities to hard to reach communities such as, sex industry workers.
Ø Actively
participate in community events and health fairs.
Ø Attend all
required meetings as assigned.
Ø Other task
as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Ø South
Sudanese National
Ø Certified
Midwife/Nurse/Family planning or any reproductive health related courses.
Ø Ample
knowledge of Family Planning.
Ø Demonstrate
interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
Ø Understanding
of risky behaviors, substance abuse, sexuality and relevant psychosocial
issues.
Ø Certified
counseling or able to obtain certification within three months of employment.
Ø Able to
perform other family planning methods
Ø Must have
strong, computer and writing skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication
skills.
